1Life Social Media competition terms and conditions

Nominations process:

  • Nominations take place on the Mzansi Magic website on the 1Life page
  • An overview of the award and entry process will be provided on the 1Life page above the entry form
  • Form fields will include:
    • Nominator name and surname
    • Nominator cell number and email
    • Nominee name and surname
    • Nominee cell number and email
    • Nominator motivation outlining why they have chosen their nominee.

Selection process:

Channel audit guidelines dictates an independent auditor verifies results.

  • Entries received are reviewed by 1Life and 5- 10 entries are shortlisted
  • Shortlisted entries are verified before final panel review
  • A panel is convened to review the short-listed candidates based on predetermined criteria
  • Independent auditor’s verification to determine a winner
  • Winner informed and content prepared for broadcast at the live event

Terms & Conditions:

  1. No staff member of 1Life Insurance Ltd (“the Company”) and/or any of their associated or affiliated companies and/or agencies, and staff members or their immediate family; nor members of the sponsors of any competition listed on this page, and/or any of their affiliated companies and/or agencies, and members of their immediate family, may enter the competition hosted by 1Life Insurance Ltd.
  2. The Mzansi Magic Viewers Choice Awards voting will launch on 21 June, 2017. Audience voting will be available on SMS, via USSD code and on WeChat via the Mzansimagictv official account. In addition to the MVCA audience voting, audience nominations for the 1Life Life Changer Awards will be hosted on the Mzansi Magic website.
  3. Voting for the 1Life Life Changer Award closes on Tuesday the 04th of August, 2017.
  4. SMS voting is via a short code 39201. On receipt of the vote, the audience member receives a return message allowing them to opt into being contacted by a 1Life representative. SMS voting is charged at R1.50 per SMS (Free bundles do not apply).
  5. USSD voting is via a USSD STRING e.g. *120*33033#. On receipt of the Menu 2 response , the audience member receives a return message allowing them to opt into being contacted by a 1Life representative.
  6. WeChat voting is via the Mzansimagictv official account menu or keyword ‘vote’. Voting categories will be listed with nominees available as a sub menu in the category. On receipt of the nominee vote, the audience member receives a return message allowing them to opt into being contacted by a 1Life representative.
  7. The Life Changer Nominations page will be hosted on the Mzansi Magic Website within the MVCA section of the site. The page will be 1Life branded in the form of a banner image above the form. The nominator completed their personal and contact information. Then completes the details of the person they are nominating. The nominator then writes a motivation as to why they are nominating the person. The nominator will be presented with 2 tick boxes - 1. terms and conditions / 2. an opt-in to receive an insurance quote. E.g. I would like to receive a life insurance quote from 1Life Insurance. When the person opts-in their data will be sent to 1Life to be contacted for an obligation-free life insurance / funeral quote.
  8. The 3 Finalist Nominators and their Life Changer Nominees will then be invited to the DSTV Mzansi Viewers Choice Awards on Saturday the 26th of August, 2017 and need to make themselves available at the awards evening.
  9. On the night of the awards, the winning Nominator and Nominee will be announced at the live Awards evening which will be broadcasted live on television.
  10. The winning Nominator and Nominee will each will a cash prize of R50,000.00 (Fifty-Thousand rand) each.
  11. The number of entries is limited to ONE per person per NOMINATOR per NOMINEE day.
  12. Finalists will be notified telephonically. Should we not be able to contact the finalist after 3 attempts after the competition has closed, the shortlisted finalist will lose their place in the final three listing.
  13. No persons under 18 years of age may enter.
  14. This competition is only open to South African citizens. Proof of citizenship will need to be presented, either by way of a valid South African Identity document, valid South African driver’s license, or South African passport.
  15. The winner agrees to co-operate with the Company in participating in any public relations exposure related to this competition. Finalists are to make themselves available for interviews, photo shoots and possible filming of their story to be aired on Television and shared on all mediums or advertising, including but not limited to Television, Radio, Magazine and Newspaper Publications, Digital and Online platforms and Outdoor advertising mediums.
  16. The winner’s details may be published on the Company’s website.
  17. Prizes are not transferable, nor are they refundable, or exchangeable.
  18. 1Life Insurance Ltd shall not be held responsible for:
    • Lost, late, delayed, misdirected, unintelligible or incomplete electronic mail.
    • Telephonic, electronic, hardware or software program, network, internet or computer malfunctions, failures, or difficulties.
    • Errors in transmission, and any condition caused by events beyond the control of 1Life Insurance Ltd which may cause the promotion to be disrupted or corrupted.
  19. 1Life Insurance Ltd shall not be held responsible for entries not received in the event of participants not successfully completing the entering mechanism provided.
  20. The judge’s decision shall be final and no correspondence in this regard will be entered into.
  21. Any violation or attempt to violate any of the above rules shall result in the immediate disqualification of the transgressor.
